We use the earthworm and it's end waste product called castings to achieve maximum results in plant growth, health and yield.
We sell three types of worms, the first is the red wiggler (Eisenia fetida) which is a true recycler. It will consume half its body weight a day in household waste consisting of kitchen scraps and newspapers. Sold by the pound, you just add these to your indoor vermin composting box or add them to your outdoor compost bin.
The second is the European Night crawler (Eisenia hortensis) which is a larger composting worm that also recycles organic waste and produces good castings
The third worm we sell is the Canadian Nightcrawler (Lumbricus terrestris). This worm is found in Ontario and is the worm that burrows, creating tunnels that can range 2 meters deep and 4 meters across. It consumes decaying organic matter and deposits rich worm castings to fertilize your lawn. Earthworms are Mother Nature’s own mini plows as they burrow through the earth. They cycle nutrients from below ground and deposit them in a form of nutrient rich castings on the surface of your lawn.
These burrows have several benefits as they create air passages that bring oxygen down to the root zone for your grass and trees. These burrows also channel down rain water thus assisting in hydrating your root zone. This helps you to save money by watering less. The castings are beneficial as they contain micronutrients that are immediately available to feed your plants and won't harm their delicate root system. This worm is sold by the 500 count and is top dressed on your lawn at a rate of 500 per 1000 sq.ft.
Organic worm castings are sold by the bag and in bulk. Castings are in a humus granular form and hold up to 9 times their weight in water thus making your plants, gardens and lawn more drought resistant. They assist by holding more water and developing a stronger healthier root system. Castings can be applied by top dressed on your lawn when you over seed or by adding them to your garden and flower beds. Castings are 100% organic, odorless, child and pet safe.
Worm castings are also brewed into a living tea. The tea rejuvenates the soil by adding beneficial living microbes that immediately go to work in feeding your lawn, plants and gardens. It is odorless, child and pet safe. It is applied by spraying it directly onto your lawn and garden without fear of burning your plants. Your children and pets can immediately walk onto your lawn after application without fear of tracking it into your house or being harmed. TOTALLY SAFE.
